The hemp and cannabis plants contains more than 100 different chemical compounds known as cannabinoids, which interact with our pet’s endocannabinoid system (ours too) in many positive ways! The endocannabinoid system regulates things like pain, anxiety, inflammation, appetite and so much more…
One of those cannabinoids found in hemp is CBD, or cannabidiol (pronounced cann-a-bid-EYE-ol). CBD is non-psychoactive, which means it won't get you high — but there's a growing body of evidence that it has numerous health benefits, as CBD binds to these receptors in our endocannabinoid system, resulting in an overall improvement and consistent wellness in the areas this system regulates.
At LIX we use the highest quality Hemp CBD and combine it will other natural ingredients to create the highest quality human grade wellness products for our pets (safe for you too!)
Yes, here is why: Farm Bill passed – it removed hemp derived CBD from the federally controlled substance list (why it was on there we will never understand).

Patty Khuly, DVM, authored this article in Veterinary Practice News July 16, 2018 and we thank her for her insight which we took the liberty of adding here: By Patty Khuly, VMD, MBA https://www.veterinarypracticenews.com/whats-the-deal-with-cbd/
“CBD’s safety profile has been studied in dogs at Colorado State University (conclusion: safe) and research into its efficacy in seizure disorders is currently underway there. A mountain of anecdotal reports also identifies osteoarthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, allergic skin disease, appetite stimulation, and nausea relief (among others) as other potential areas of study.
High-level evidence on efficacy is scant, to be sure, but CBD oil is considered safe and effective by a growing number of veterinary practitioners who aren’t your typical devotees of alternative medicine. I fall squarely into that camp. Count me among the converted.”
Yes. Our products are safe and should be a complement to you pets already healthy diet and promoting their overall wellness.
We suggest starting with a daily dose of our product. Your pet will generally experience benefits of the CBD within 15-20 min, depending on their metabolism. Oils have a faster activation time, then other products containing CBD. Each serving will last anywhere from 4-8 hours in their system. If you are looking to improve things like mobility or mood, we suggest picking a time of day and being consistent, like a dose every morning. You can certainly provide a dose to a pet, that needs it for a particular situation that you know may effect their mood dramatically, just make sure you allow for activation time.
We have many people who give a dose morning and night. A nightly dose can also help your pet to settle in for the evening. Try and be consistent with your dosing schedule. Sometimes in can take several days to see the overall benefits from use of the product. Consistency will aid in promoting this wellness for your pets.
You should generally see an improvement from use of our product right away. Our dosing guide is a baseline, so if you do not see an improvement within an hour, try increasing with half of another dose. (If your pet is overly anxious or active, try giving a bit more)
It may also take a few days of a daily dose to see the overall benefits for your pets, so as we mentioned stay as consistent as you can on when you serve it to your pets.
We are always happy to help and answer questions, so feel free to reach out to us when needing assistance with dosing too!
The same reasons we take it! It’s great for a general wellness program! It’s also wonderful as anti-aging support and for reducing general anxiety, reducing pain, relaxation of a highly stressed animal, wound application. It has wonderful anti-inflammatory properties making it a great all around support.
No. Not in the traditional sense. If you give too much, there can be more sleepiness or less energy than you may have wanted when treating. Please use the dosing guide, your veterinarian for suggestions if they’re CBD savvy, and our dosing guide.
There aren’t really any side effects known or that we have seen. If you’re administering according to your vets (if so inclined to suggest use) or our dosing guide or other dosing guides, you’re in territory. We suggest ‘light side’ use and provide a dosing guide to use if you’re looking for different or more pronounced relief from pain or anxiety.
We know there is a lot of information (and a lot of misinformation) out there. LIX crew is dedicated to providing the BEST organically grown, sustainably farmed and harvested hemp derived CBD, limited and organic ingredients. Our dogs (and other family members) eat, drink, or wear these products every day.
CBD has virtually no side effects and carries no risk associated with over dosing. Over dosing is possible if ingestion of very large amounts occurred. It would hard to approach that amount in a household.
Administering big doses of CBD oil could, and likely will, relax and eventually cause sleep.
*IF YOUR DOG IS ON MEDICATION, SEE BELOW ON “MY DOG IS ON MEDICATION”.
When you have a dog on medication and under the care of the vet, run the use of CBD by them before using it. Occasionally, they’ll want you to adjust the dosage so we’d like you to have their blessing. We’re available for a chat if they’re interested in talking with us about our methods, etc. (see our contact page)
Broad-spectrum CBD oil differs from full-spectrum CBD oil mainly because it contains no THC but does contain all the other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoid elements. When all these elements are taken together, they work in sync with each other to produce a greater therapeutic effect.
We can offer broad spectrum CBD oils in various combinations of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. A broad-spectrum CBD offers a variety of cannabinoids working alongside CBD (minus the THC).
Broad Spectrum CBD Oil points to consider:
We get animals. We get the devotion to them. We get the veterinarian world is a little handcuffed with the grey area that is CBD. We love animals. We are dedicated and obsessed with customer success – your animals (and you) are our customers; further, our own animals are our customers. We commit to getting the best organically sourced, sustainably harvested, eco conscious at the best price we can. We want you to be able to easily grow into us and stay with us. If we wouldn’t give it to our crew, we won’t give it to yours.
We get it, there are a lot of vendors and it’s super complex to try to figure out which vendor. We love your business. Thank you!
Broad spectrum contains no thc
Full spectrum contains thc
Here are our thoughts on this (in conjunction with vets and peers):
If you are working on reducing anxiety, you may start to see the effects of cbd within 30-60 minutes. If you’re faced with chronic physical issues like joint pain and/or mobility issues, you may see it take 2 – 4 weeks for optimal results. Please see our dosing guide for low/medium/high dosage so you can quickly reach the dose your dog needs in order to find relief.
Yes. Consult with your vet if you have any of your crew on other medication. Let your vet know of our site or show the ingredients and if they have a need for additional information, please let us know and we will get you the info needed. We have senior dogs (and the occasional puppy) and everyone gets our products. I start low and get more strength as the crew needs it.
As you read above, all animals have an endocannabinoid system. With dogs though, one striking difference is that it appears there is a greater concentration of cannabinoid receptors in the dog’s brain than there are in most other animals.
Here is our opinion at LIX -
There is not enough evidence to make a total call so we will ask you to consult with your veterinarian. We don’t have enough research or case study results to come to a definite conclusion. There is some risk involved in the choice to use CBD oil during pregnancy because we simply do not know enough yet to declare one way or another the right thing to do.
Our hemp derived CBD will likely will offer therapeutic benefits as long because it does not contain THC, but if we do not fully know that it poses NO risk to developing pups, is it really worth the chance something could go wrong? Not for us.
Make a mindful decision when you decide to administer CBD to your mama dog.
Until we all have more scientific evidence or anecdotal proof for pregnancy, we will not be offering medical advice or recommending one path over the other. Our advice is that when it comes to producing life and raising the next generation of your puppies, you and your vet (and staff) have to be confident that you have the best available. LIX provides the best available.
