Erin and Kirstan met many years ago over the adoption of our mascot, Diesel, and spent many more years successfully collaborating in animal rescue and breed legislative work.

Before forming LIX, Erin spent years building and growing the sales and operations of one of the largest cannabis companies in the US. While Kirstan grew a career in finance, she also used her passion for animals to expand her knowledge in pet nutrition/herbalism and has her master's in cannabis science. 

A combination, they knew would create a successful company focused on animals' overall health and wellness.

EDUCATION MATTERS

Kirstan Sanders, co-founder, is the first individual within the pet industry to graduate with a Master's Degree in Medical Cannabis Science & Therapeutics from the esteemed University of Maryland.

The MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, is a trailblazing initiative, being the nation's first master's program in Medical Cannabis as a science and a therapeutic. This unique 2 year program offers a comprehensive curriculum, providing in-depth instruction in the science, policy, and therapeutic aspects of cannabinoid science.  

Graduates of this program are equipped with unparalleled abilities to support patients, determine dosing appropriateness, participate in policy and regulation development, and identify and pursue research opportunities related to the effects of phytocannabinoids on health and wellness.
